Vegan patties with eggplant and tzatsiki

I’m so happy with this recipe! It tastes great, it looks fresh, it’s 100% vegan and has funny elements for any foodie with some will for using products in a maybe new way.

Sesamzaad

The magic sesame seed

Today I have chosen the sesame seed as the tastebud in the spotlight. Such a small seed but with so many possibilities!

Bread cravings and dairy-free bread as treatment

If you recently started with reducing your carbs in your diet, you probably are also starting to miss a thing or two. One is probably bread. Cause, let’s be honest. It’s so easy to just grab a sandwich when in hurry or when you don’t have any mega-creative ideas about what to make. But! Cutting the carbs, doesn’t mean that you will never be able to get a great sandwich again. You just have to start making your own bread!  Does is sound difficult? It’s not!

Make me feel a better person-soup (or just vegan Miso soup without tofu)

So finally, December is past and January started. I hope you al have had a good Christmas and new year! Personally I couldn’t wait for the routines of normal weekdays to start again. Not so much because I don’t like holiday’s but because I like the feeling of being “on it” with both food and sports. Do you feel the same?  Maybe you also have the feeling, just like me, of bringing in new routines in your life, or just taking back the old ones you had? Maybe this soup is the kick in the right direction?

Heavenly, bitter chocolate mousse

Tomorrow it is the last day of the year 2015. Of course it should be celebrated! If you have planned a dinner with friends and family, you need a grand dessert. Something you can prepare in advance, that doesn’t ask too much effort and doesn’t cost a fortune. I have the answer for you – rich and bitter chocolate mousse!

Healthy chocolate fudge with dates and ice chocolate

This Christmas isn’t like any other Christmas for me. It is the first one without my father that passed away earlier this year. I’m busy going along the memory lane and the normal Christmas feeling have difficulties to find its way through. Luckily I get reality checks through my sisters children and they remind me about the importance of making Christmas candy, a yearly tradition. And of course we should!

Soft gingerbread with white beans and pecans

Almost christmas! The different taste and smell that comes to my mind when I think about christmas would be saffron, cinnamon, Seville (bitter) orange, cloves, ginger and lots of different kind of dried fruits and nuts. In other words, high time to start using some of these spices.

Creamy soup with celeriac

Maybe you actually made the complete oven-cooked celeriac sunday? And you did your utmost best to finish it but still you are left with half of it (that’s what happened to me with my 2 kilo celeriac at least)? Congratulations, this is a fresh start of a vegetarian soup for lunch or dinner!

Halloumi_and_vegetables

Pumpkin with halloumi, tomato sauce and lots of flavors!

Last week, we had guests for dinner. I was doubting what to serve, my thoughts were going everywhere, unable to decide. Until an hour before the guests arrived, I still hadn’t made up my mind!

Smooth cashew yoghurt with homemade granola

On internet and in different cooking books you can find recipes for cashew yoghurt. A great alternative if you want to cut milk products in your diet and still enjoy creamy yoghurt.
