Raw smoothie with pear and figs

Raw smoothie with fig

Since a few weeks I have been, like many more in this season, struggling with a cold, fever and just in general a feeling of being ill.
I’m now REALLY fed up with it, this has to stop NOW! A soothing smoothie fits me perfect!

I want to go to my workout’s and feel the power in my muscles. I want to sleep al night long and wake up before my alarm goes off. I want to be able to taste my strong coffee and breathe the smell of wet autumn leaves.

These are the moments when I go back to raw food for a short while. Cuddling and curling with my own body. Asking (and begging in disguise) for fast recovery. Giving it some extra vitamin C, a blanket and warm socks. And drink more smoothies.

Here is a really nice smoothie with figs just at its end of the season. Sweet and at the same time hot with a twist of  ancho chili.
Is this what your body is asking for as well?

Let’s get to work!
2 big glasses, you need a hand blender or a kitchen blender for this recipe.

Ingredients
1 ripe, peeled and cored pear (~4,95 oz/140 gr)
2 fresh figs (~4,0 oz/110 gr)
0,55 oz/15 gr deodorized coconut oil (melted)
10,5 oz/300 gr/4 dl almond milk (unsweetened)
Finely ground cinnamon
Finely ground ancho chili
1 drip of raw vanilla essence or 1/2 tsp of vanilla powder

How do I do it?
1. Melt the coconut oil (in a bain-marie (water bath), a pan or microwave)
2. Cut the peeled pear and fig in pieces and place them in a mixer bowl.
3. Add the vanilla, almond milk, a responsible splash of ancho chili, much more cinnamon and the coconut oil.
4. Place the lid on the mixer or the hand blender carefully in the bottom of the bowl to avoid that is splash everywhere when running. Mix the ingredients until you have a creamy smoothie and pour in 2 glasses. Finish it off with a dust of cinnamon on top.
5. Enjoy!
